Thomas Willmann, journalist and member of the 2009 selection committee
Every year films from all over the world are submitted for the competition of the Munich International Festival of Film Schools. To regulate the entries, only film schools are allowed to nominate films of their students.
Almost 250 short theatrical, documentary and animated films were submitted this year. An independent jury made the selection. Three film experts viewed, discussed and rated more than 60 hours of material to pick out the most interesting films for the competition.
The members of the 2009 selection committee were Gisela Wehrl, a writer and producer from Leipzig, Csaba Zoltán Papp (Magyar Filmunió, Budapest) and the freelance cultural affairs journalist and writer Thomas Willmann from Munich.
