Being concerned with the question of renewable energy as a solution to mankind’s problems, the short film “Q” is nominated for the Climate Clips Award at IFFM 2009. Director Eva Münnich on the message of her film and on surname confusion.

Why do you make films? What motivates you?

Working the way I do, which means almost alone on a whole project, gives me the feeling to have at least a little bit of control over something.

What do you immediately associate with Munich? (except beer!)

The city’s name, München, resembles quite much my family name, Münnich. People I’m introduced to usually say: “Oh! Münnich! Like the city!” I gave up pointing the little difference.

What’s the most important thing you’ll bring along to Munich?

That might be my mobile phone, to take pictures, shoot movies, etc.

How long will it take you to get to Munich?

3,5 hours.

The special competition CLIMATE CLIPS AWARD will take place for the second time at the IFFM 2009. It is held in collaboration with the Nagelschneider Foundation to promote debate on climate change. The award is endowed with € 5.000,-.

Eva Münnich studies at the Academy of Design in Offenbach. “Q” is being presented on Thursday, November 19th at 17:00 pm and on Friday, November 20th at 19:30 pm.
