What tag line or catch phrase describes your film best?

“Once upon a time there was a landscape so empty, that even love had trouble finding its way.”

In the breaking of a new day a groom sets out intending to find petrol to fill the newly weds’ empty tank. But while the yawning landscape holds few distractions, the mind holds many, and soon the bloom of true love turns into something closer to a gothic lament.

Do you remember the first movie you have ever seen?

I was about seven at that time. My father bought tickets for my mum and me. He thought there’d be shown a documentary movie on the Stone Age – similarly like “L’ours” (The Bear) by the same director. What we saw on the screen was not a documentary but a movie with cavemen running around, having sex while grunting, and killing each other to later on eat the fried arms and legs of their enemies. It was “La guerre du feu” (Quest for fire) by Jean-Jacques Annaud, and it was in 1981. Maybe I should watch that movie again. I am sure that some of the fears and bad memories were produced by my little girlie-mind and imagination and not by the screen…

Why do you make films? What motivates you?

I love light. I love air. Observing and diving into the visual worlds of directors and trying to make their vision come true on screen.

What do you immediately associate with Munich? (except beer!)

I live there. My kids live there. I am not from there.

The Special Screening of the HFF will take place on Saturday, November 21st from 11:00 am. “1,2,3″ will be displayed at 14:30 pm.
