As he is flying in from “Down Under” his iPod would have been a valuable means of distraction on his 40 hours-journey from Melbourne to Munich. Too bad that documentarist Aiden Prewett is struggling to get over the excessive use of that little tool. Fortunately he will have his multifunctional iPhone with him…

What tagline or catch phrase describes your film best?
More Music. More Movies. More Ego.
Do you remember the first movie you ever saw?
The first movie I remember seeing was “The Land Before Time”, at my local cinema. I was very young, and all I remember was a giant close-up of the Tyrannosaurus. I was terrified.
What was the worst movie you ever saw?
Hmmm… that’s a tricky one. I don’t like to judge other people’s movies as being “bad”, because I know that they’ve probably put a huge amount of work in, and unfortunately it hasn’t turned out as well as they’d hoped.
Who do you consider the best director of all time?
Definitely Stanley Kubrick. There’s something really raw about his stuff – even the high tech stuff – that makes it so believable.
Why do you make films? What motivates you?
I’ve always been fascinated with this amazing technology that allows you to record the illusion of motion. Documentary in particular really amazes me, because with certain events you can walk out of the cinema and say “I saw that happen, for real.”
What do you immediately associate with Munich? (except beer!)
The castle they used for the Disney logo, of course!
What’s the most important thing you’ll bring with you to Munich?
My iPhone. Unfortunately after the film in which I tried to get over addiction to my iPod, I am now addicted to my iPhone. I guess it’ll be more important when I’m away from home, so I can keep in touch with loved ones.
How long will it take you to get to Munich?
I think the flights are totalling 27 hours, but with travel in between it’ll probably be more like 40 hours!
The screenings of Aiden Prewett’s documentary “Me, Myself + iPod” will take place on Tuesday, November 11th at 14:30 pm and on Wednesday, November 18th at 19:30 pm.
